Contact Lenses
Today I had a contact lens fitting. It wasn't as unpleasant as I had expected, and while the lenses were uncomfortable after ten minutes or so it was ok. The biggest problem was that my eyes were watering bucket loads of tears which made it very hard to tell if the lenses were having an effect. I do think they will improve my vision considerably as they push the cornea of my left eye back into a more normal shape.

I need a hard lens of my left eye, and a soft one for my right which means that each requires a different technique for getting the lenses in and out of my eyes, but that's something to worry about when I have my training session on their use in a week or so I guess.

I went for a contact lens fitting about a week ago. The optician had huge fat fingers and merrily prodded at my eye for way too long.
It still takes me aaaages to put them in!

It took me ages to learn how to put my contact lenses in - when I had my training session I was sitting there for half an hour with my eyes streaming, poking ineffectually at my eyes. But you will get used to it. And it's great to have peripheral vision!

I am looking forward to being used to contact lenses - I'm just not looking forward to getting used to them!

I suspect I will be much like you, and will probably far to clumsy at first to get them in!

That's how I feel about driving - looking forward to being able to do it, but not to learning how.
